Today’s look is a bit more casual than what you guys are used to seeing from me, but by all means, still very work appropriate. Having to bear with a strict “no jeans” policy at work can have a girl scrambling to find a stylish alternative to the oh-so versatile blue jean on a Friday morning. And since scrambling and fussy clothing are no way to start your Friday morning, the fashion gods created khakis!
Equally as comfy and versatile as jeans, you can pair your khakis with virtually any solid or printed top in your wardrobe. I wore my khakis with this perfectly floral top and accessorized with my favorite springtime handbag by Vince Camuto, andcurrent shoe obsession, my YSL Tribute’s; both of which you’ve seen before recently and will likely see a lot more of this spring!
One wardrobe staple you should not be without this spring is a floral blazer. Not only will a floral blazer completely spruce up your office look, but you can also wear it on the weekends (or to the office, depending on the dress code) with tailored shorts and sky high heels to create a chic summer suit. For a more casual approach, I love wearing my floral blazer with a T-shirt (graphic or not), boyfriend jeans and some killer heels. I got this floral blazer last spring from Forever 21 and it’s definitely one of my best F21 finds. This particular floral blazer is no longer available at Forever 21, but below I have provided 4 other swoon worthy floral blazer suggestions!
Happy Monday Dolls! I wish you all a vibrant week!
I went to Marshalls last week in search of a gift for a baby shower and as I (tried) to walk past the ladies department I couldn’t help being drawn in by this gorgeous TAHARI snake print blouse. Now it’s no secret that I am a sucker for animal prints, I love the way leopard print makes me feel glamorous, zebra print makes me feel playful and snake print just adds that perfect touch of edge I like to throw into my usually ultra- feminine combinations.
For just the right balance of edge and femininity, I paired this blouse with a Radiant Orchid colored pencil skirt. If you don’t already know, “Radiant Orchid” was named “Color of the Year” for 2014 by Pantone- the global authority on all things color related. Described by Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute as “An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.” Need I say more? If you don’t already own something in a Radiant Orchid hue, I suggest you go out and shop for it!
How are you wearing your Radiant Orchid? Let me know in comments below or post a link to your Radiant Orchid look! Thanks for stopping by!
Hey guys! Hope you’ve all enjoyed your weekend so far. Last night I attended my sister’s boyfriend’s graduation party to which I FINALLY wore this Peter Pilotto x Target Iris print romper. Yes, I know, I went ham on this collection, but can you blame me? The geometric floral print of this romper (same print you saw on this dress) is striking and very much in with this seasons bold, modern floral print trend!
As irresistible as this little romper is, it’s a romper none the less and even though this was the first romper I’ve worn that correctly fit and flattered my body, once the wheels (legs) started turning (walking) I was quickly reminded of why I NEVER wear rompers. See, I suffer from “hungry thighs” it’s a syndrome prominent in Latina women in which the inner thighs devour and store any fragment of clothing they come in contact with. You ladies know what I’m talking about. That uncomfortable bunching of the shorts in between your butt and thighs that creates the need to stop, squat and pick in the most always unavoidable (non)nonchalant manner.
Knowing this would inevitably happen, I chose the right type of event to don this pretty little thing. A celebratory gathering with chatting, dining and dancing, i.e. minimal walking and mandatory squatting (dancing), yes, this is Miami, squatting is mandatory on the dance floor.
Rompers are absolutely adorable, sexy and versatile for Miami’s scorching hot weather. I really wish I could wear more of them, but for now, my heart is content! I tried something new! Yippeeee!
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a productive Monday! Seersucker is one of my favorite spring/summer fabrics.
What is seersucker? Seersucker is a breathable woven cotton fabric, traditionally striped or checkered, with alternate stripes crinkled in the weaving giving it a slightly wrinkled appearance making this fabric perfect for those hot spring and summer months. The word “seersucker” originates from the Hindi words “kheer aur shakkar”, meaning “rice pudding and sugar” due to the resemblance between the smooth and rough stripes to the smooth surface of milk and bumpy texture of sugar.
That ladies and gentlemen is your Sun Fun Fashion Lesson of the day! Lol!
Happy Monday everyone, I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! With a wedding and very special surprise birthday party to attend, this past Saturday proved the perfect day to debut the dress I consider the “Holy Grail” of the Peter Pilotto x Target Collection. The Jacquard Dress in Red Iris Print was the single most coveted piece of the collection, and at 3:00 a.m. on February 9, 2014, when I placed this dress in my shopping cart on Net-A-Porter.com, it took every fiber of my being to stop myself from screaming excitedly up and down the halls of my apartment building like a lunatic!
Just a few short hours later, this beauty was being resold on e-Bay for up to three times its original price of $79.99. I’m not going to lie, had I failed to purchase it directly from Target or Net-A-Porter for its original price, I would have paid double and would not have regret it for a second.
From the eye popping colors; genius geo-floral print; rich textured fabric; playful, pleated, tulle enhanced skirt; and fabulous bodice top. This dress is the most exquisite item to come out of any Target designer collaboration to date!
I went for an ultra playful and colorful spring look by adding blue (faux) suede shoes from Shoedazzle, a light blue clutch from Ann Taylor Loft and minimal accessories.
And so my love affair with the Peter Pilotto x Target Collection continues, but can you blame me? I mean, look at the use of print and color on this frock; and the low-high cut, ruffled bottom goes without saying! This little frock is fun and feminine all wrapped up with a matching black/white patent leather belt into one fabulous frock! I opted for all black and white accessories this time around, but for future use of this frock, I look forward to altering the dynamic by replacing the belt with a solid colored belt and coordinating accessories. Of course, you will see it here on Sun Fun Fashion!
What do you know….My dear friend, co-worker and photographer (yes, she’s a woman of many talents), Teri Rodriguez coincidently came into the office also wearing Peter Pilotto x Target! Doesn’t she look fab!! Oh, yeah and her flats…. I DIE! Love ya Teri!
Happy Friday!! I am so happy to be returning to normality (just in time for the weekend) after spending the last two weeks being all types of sick and tired (of being sick)!! Today is the first day in two weeks that I actually feel like myself. I mean, I’ve been wearing flats for two weeks?? That’s how bad I’ve been feeling! But, enough about being sick and wearing flats…. Let’s talk “Outfit of the Day”!
What is it about nautical inspired looks that always make me feel chic, breezy and sophisticated? Perhaps the imagination of dressing for a day at sea aboard a lavish sail boat along the Mediterranean, or maybe the idea of being ready for an impromptu, chic Miami happy hour aboard a yacht. Can you tell I’m in full blown weekend mode?
I do love the ocean, so maybe that explains it? What I do know is that the nautical look is a classic, timeless look that every other year makes a major “comeback”. Well 2014 is one of those years. Stripes and nautical themes are part of just about every 2014 Spring/Summer look book and fashion runway and I for one am “anchoring” my affection on all things nautical this Spring/Summer season!
What do you think of my Marshalls #fabfound nautical inspired #ootd?
