How to Style a Graphic Tee

FABB Blogger Collaboration

Happy Friday Peeps!! I am so excited to bring you all a blogger collaboration with a few of the fabulous ladies I met at this year’s Lucky FABB Conference! I love the idea of collaborating with other fashion bloggers because it allows me to bring you all a different perspective on style and inspiration. Plus, I get to introduce you to some pretty sweet and stylish ladies!

Our first collaboration style assignment was “How to Style A Graphic Tee”!  Below are a few tips directly from the fabulous ladies you see above and don’t forget to click on the tips below to check out the breakdowns of all the other great graphic tee looks featured in this post:

Meagan of Meagan’s Moda suggests: “To add polish to a casual tee topped with denim, pair it with bold jewelry, a slim pencil skirt and strappy heels.”

Mega of Dress Up on a Cloudy Day suggests: “For an easy way to dress up a graphic tee, pair it with a bold pencil skirt: try a midi for an on trend look.”

Thea of Ever so Thea suggests: “Look through your parents’ old clothes! I’ve found a couple staple pieces that I’m not even sure they noticed I stole.”

Kayleigh of Kayleigh’s Kloset suggests: “Style it with overalls for an edgier look.”

Laura of Have Need Want suggests: “You can dress up an otherwise casual outfit with heels and jewelry, and wearing a monochromatic outfit emphasizes the graphic tee.”

As for myself, I suggest: “Pairing your graphic tee with a feminine, flowy skirt (mini, midi or maxi), great heels and a statement necklace for a look that’s effortlessly chic and translates well from day to evening.”

Lucky FABB Networking Brunch

To wrap up Lucky FABB 2014, Lucky Magazine treated us to a FABB-ulous brunch at the SLS Beverly Hills Hotel! It was a perfect day in Los Angeles for brunch, bubbly and bloggers!  Speaking of bloggers, can we talk about how absolutely FABB each and every one of the Lucky FABB attendees looked at this brunch? I almost came home with both a stiff neck caused by major “neck-breakage” and trigger finger from all the photo snapping!!  Think I’m exaggerating?  See for yourself!

What I Wore: Lucky FABB Day 1

Deciding what to wear to a fashion and beauty bloggers conference can be pretty intimidating. After all, the fellow attendees are some of the best dressed women in the country!  I had originally planned on wearing a dress I bought online last minute, but when it arrived unfortunately, it did not fit!  On to plan B.

I knew I wanted to be chic, current and comfortable and so I arrived at this look here below.  As you already know, metallics are one of my top rated trends for 2014 which means this gold lamé, pleated skirt by Ellie Tahari will no longer be reserved for holidays and special occasions!

I had the original buttons on this denim jacket switched for the black/gold trim buttons you see here.  This is a fun way of customizing pieces without spending too much money.  I think the black/gold trimmed buttons give this otherwise basic denim jacket a little boost of chicness!

As you already know, I recently attended the 2014 Lucky FABB Conference in Los Angeles, California! Like any other jubilant fashion blogger, I came home with an overload of pictures!  Therefore I decided a picture story would be a great way of sharing my Day 1 experience at Lucky FABB!

The Conference was held at the posh SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills!  I borrowed this picture from the SLS website as despite the hundreds of photos I took, none of them could possibly capture the beauty of the venue quite like this photo.

As I strutted towards the main entrance, I was completely aroused at the sight of hundreds of impeccably dressed women (and a few men) just beaming with excitement for the day ahead!

I met up with a few of the lovely ladies I had met the previous night at the SEXY HAIR Soiree to join forces as “conference buddies.”

Upon entry I received my Lucky FABB badge, access card and conference portfolio!  This got me very excited!

We then proceeded to the delectable breakfast buffet for “blogger fuel” in the form of croissants, pastries, fruit, mini yogurt parfaits, juices and of course, coffee!

After breakfast it was time for panel discussions with industry professionals, celebrities and high- bloggers!

First up, the hilarious, playful and very stylish editor in chief of Lucky Magazine, Eva Chen sat down with Nicole Richie, creative director of House of Harlow 1960 .  I loved hearing her talk about how most of her inspirations for her jewelry line come from her love of old vintage jewelry, especially her mother’s collection.  She also talked about her extensive home fruit and vegetable garden which she and her family cultivate.

Next up was the incredibly inspirational #girlboss, Sophia Amoruso, founder and CEO of Nasty Gal .  She spoke about how she turned Nasty Gal Vintage, an eBay store she ran out of her San Francisco apartment into Nasty Gal, Inc., a multi-million dollar corporation. Look out for the release of her first book titled #GIRLBOSS out May 6th! Isn’t her colorful vintage NastyGal frock EVERYTHING!! Oh and those shoes tho!! I really enjoyed this discussion! Thank you Sophia!

In between panel discussions we had some time off to meet with several brand representatives and play dress up with all the FABB accessories and goodies!

Oh yeah, there were jewelry making and mini manicure stations too!!

Then it was time to grub on the yummy lunch buffet provided by Lucky Magazine and the SLS Hotel!

The next discussion featured the incredibly gorgeous January Jones from Madmen who spoke about her cover story on the digital magazine and luxury beauty product merchant, Violet Grey.  She is magnetically beautiful.  I was in awe of her beauty and quite frankly Ms. Jones is my new girl crush!  I even (finally) started watching Madmen because of my encounter with Ms. Jones.  She wore a stunning Dorothee Schumacher dress that zipped from both top to bottom and bottom to top = sexy!

Drooling over January Jones had me feeling a bit parched.  Luckily it was time to enjoy some delicious cocktails courtesy of Miss Me and La Marca Prosecco and network with the rest of the Lucky Fabb Bloggers!

After cocktails it was time for the last panel discussion of the day, “A Style Conversation with Coco Rocha”! This woman is hilarious, down to earth, big-hearted and a supermodel! She spoke about her collaboration with Model Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the rights of young models.  She also expressed her severe dislike of the #selfie, something I found pretty hysterical.

I’m not going to lie, by the end of the day I was exhausted!  It’s not easy being FABB! Lol! Day 1 of Lucky FABB was an invaluable and unforgettable experience I will always cherish.  I met so many sweet, intelligent, inspiring and fabulous women and learned a vast amount of FABB information!

Sunnies Delight

Good morning! As you all know, most of my posts are usually about my outfits and although I have every intention of sharing the full details of my outfit today, today’s post is all about my new “sunnies.”

If you’ve flipped through the pages of just about any fashion magazine lately you have probably noticed that the hottest trends in sunglasses this year are retro, oversized, decorated, cat-eye and mirrored lens. Being a Miami girl, a great pair of “sunnies” are much more than a trendy accessory, they are a bare necessity and driving essential.

Of the five sunglass trends mentioned above, the cat-eye and mirrored lens were the two trends I was highly coveting before coming across these TO DIE FOR, Tom Ford sunnies which just so happened to be the perfect marriage of cat-eye frame and mirrored lens delightfulness! Never, have I ever been more in love with a pair of sunnies as I am with my Tom Ford Nastasya, Shiny Rose, Gold Mirror Lens.

P.S. I got mine on Amazon (here) for 25% there are only 2 left! Go get em!!!

P.S.S. My boyfriend’s shirt is NIKE… Lol! Just Do It!

How Sweet It Is

Yesterday I attended my cousin Cecilia’s baby shower at Crazy About You in Brickell. The theme of the baby shower was “How Sweet It Is….To Be Blessed With a Baby Boy” and our entire family couldn’t agree more, we are sooo excited for the birth of baby Roger!  Although Crazy About You has been part of Miami’s dining circuit for quite some time now, this was my first time  there and I was pretty impressed.  The food is delicious, the ambiance is that of a swanky lounge and the decor is warm and elegant, but the highlight of this restaurant is its prime location on Brickell Bay Drive facing an amazing view of Biscayne Bay, the Port of Miami and Miami Beach. With so much surrounding beauty, how could I not initiate a mini-photoshoot to share with you guys…. WHAT I WORE!

Color blocking is one of my favorite ways of wearing color and if you know me, you KNOW I LOVE COLOR! Color blocking was huge in 2012 from runways and home design, to salons everywhere (remember the very popular color-blocked nails).  Well, this year the color blocking madness continues with color blocked hair (Hombre), shoes (cap-toe shoes are everywhere) and handbags.

My look consists of two color blocked pieces, the dress by Calvin Klein c/o Marshalls originally came with a thin white, patent leather belt, but I swapped it for a belt with a little more panache; and the handbag by Vince Camuto, is a recent obsession of mine which is also sold in shades of blues and off white (here). See how it all came together below and my full outfit details following the pics. I hope all of you are having a Sun, Fun, Sunday!
