Maternity Style Must Have

We all love to hate Kim Kardashian, but we gotta give her credit where credit is due, and while I give her kuddos for turning a shoddy sex tape into a multi-million dollar empire, that is not what I will be crediting her in today’s blog post. I will however, be crediting her for influencing my all-around “Maternity Style Must Have”….. The endlessly versatile Wolford Fatal Dress.

Although I don’t customarily wear skin tight dresses, I can’t think of a better time to embrace my womanly curves than during pregnancy.  Made of a luxe, super stretchy fabric, the Wolford Fatal Dress is the essential dress to accommodate a woman’s flourishing, baby making body; and as if finding the perfect LBD to sustain you through 9 months of pregnancy wasn’t valuable enough, you’ll be wowed to know that this amazing dress can be worn in at least 10 different ways!

We all know maternity clothing can be pricey, and although the Wolford Fatal Dress’ $215.00 price tag isn’t necessarily on the low end, when you consider the countless styling possibilities and potential for postpartum wear, it truly is a bang for one’s buck.

What’s your maternity style must have?

Weekend Vibes

Here’s another weekend casual look perfect for weekend wandering and running errands in style.  I got this Adidas x TOPSHOP jacket last year from TOPSHOP at The Grove Shopping Center in Los Angeles and have only worn it for traveling due to Miami’s eternal summer climate.

The athletic inspired trend was huge in 2014 and has carried over to 2015 due to popular demand.  Those of you who know me know that I have never been one for athletic wear, but when athletic wear brands (such as Adidas) collaborate with fashion forward retailers (such as TOPSHOP) the outcome of fashionable comfort is simply irresistible.

I hope you all have a fun filled weekend! Thank you for visiting me and don’t forget to stay tuned next Wednesday for my new Wednesday feature in collaboration with Nathalie of EarnestyleWork Style Wednesday!

Good Deeds

What would you do if you saw a woman walking down the street with a ripped dress and her ass hanging out? Okay, forget the part where this is Miami and butt cheek exposure is the norm. I’m talking about a woman, clearly dressed for work, wearing a blazer and a dress with a tear from her lower back to her mid thigh.  Would you stop her and advise her of the situation?

Last week Thursday as I made my way to work, I stepped out of the car, entered my office building, walked by 2 different lobbies and rode 2 different elevators (full of people) all the while fully exposing my derriere.  Do you think a single person had the courtesy of telling me “Excuse me miss, your ass is completely exposed”….? NOPE!  Not a soul.  My hopes were that no one actually noticed, but considering the enormous size of the tear (and my ass), I find it very hard to believe.

I can’t tell you how many times I have saved or relieved complete strangers of embarrassing situations.  Booger in nose, skirt tucked into panties, open zippers, etc. Although it appears Karma has failed to keep tabs of my past good deeds, I plan to continue my selfless acts of kindness in hopes that one day the good deeds will be reciprocated.

The moral of the story is: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”  Do good deeds people!  If you see a sister walking down the street with a hole the size of Texas on her dress/skirt/pants, let a sister know!

After much debate about whether or not I should post a picture of the not-so-little mishap, I decided that my personal style blog is no place to publicly display my goods, at least not my God given ones anyway. But just know that while taking the pics below I enjoyed an extra nice breeze.

Little Miss Happy Pants

I’ve noticed myself wearing a whole lot of blue and yellow lately.  Although I usually go through phases when it comes to color combos, it’s pretty safe to say that blue and yellow is without a doubt my favorite color combination.  I guess its no coincidence, I mean look around……no really, look at the facade of my Sun Fun Fashion page….

Okay, so I love blue and yellow, now let’s talk about my “Happy Pants”!  These blue(ish) damask printed pants are another Marshalls #fabfound I scored for only $19.99! “Damask print” is most commonly seen in black and white and most often used in home décor or wallpapering, but as you can see looks pretty fabulous on a pair of pants.  Printed pants are a great way of adding a little sass to your wardrobe and your step, wink wink.  You can wear them with solid colored tops (as seen below) or if you’re feeling crazy (as I often do) you can go for a head-to- toe mixed print look. Click here, here, here and here for more “Happy Pants” looks on Sun Fun Fashion!

How do you add fun and sass to your look?

I have an admission to make…. I did an awful job at packing for my recent past trip to Los Angeles! Aside from the outfits, accessories and essentials for the actual FABB conference, I neglected to pack just about everything else!  I had no pajamas, no flip flops and only one extra T-shirt (the one you see below).  Considering the desperate and deficient circumstances in which the outfit below came to be, I had no intention of photographing this outfit.  However, after the Lucky FABB Networking Brunch, my boyfriend and I decided to take a stroll around L.A. and head to the Farmers Market for a late lunch and we came across this gorgeous mural on the side wall of a gas station and I just couldn’t resist snapping a few pics!

Something Special

How about that cold weather teaser we had yesterday? You “northerners” are probably thinking “Is this woman crazy? It was barely 50 degrees in Miami!!” Yes, this is true, but for us Miamians who are used to keeping toasty year round, fifty degrees is damn cold!

I personally have a love/hate relationship with cold weather. I love winter fashion, but I really hate the cold. I’m a sucker for jackets, boots(ies), gloves, suede, leather, you name it! But my absolute favorite winter piece is definitely the scarf! I get it from my mother (the woman has more scarves and pashminas than the entire population of Russia combined).

When I first laid eyes on this red lips print scarf at Marshalls it was love at first sight! This baby is a true statement piece. Notice how every other piece in this outfit is a basic, khakis, white button down, blazer- all basics.

Well, if you don’t already know, I don’t do basic. At least not without a little something special and this scarf is just that… Something Special!

Scarves are endlessly versatile accessories. Not only are there countless ways of wearing a scarf around your neck, but you can morph your scarf into a turban, waist sash, halter, beach cover up, or even a dress (using a combination of scarves). Check out make up artist and fellow blogger Tommy Beauty Pro’s post and tutorials on 25 Ways to Wear a Scarf.

Oh yea, scarves also look Tré-chic tied or wrapped around the top handles of a handbag. As seen here.

Just BLAZE-R It ….

I just love a good crisp blazer, don’t you? A blazer is a style staple absolutely no woman (much less man) should be without and simply the best way to make just about anything look chic and polished. Need a quick and chic way to transform any look from desk-to-dinner? Just BLAZE-R it!

I hope you all have a lovely day and thank you very much for your visit!
