Fancy Wednesday

Welcome to Sun Fun Fashion’s new weekly feature “Fancy Wednesday” where I will share with you items that are currently “striking my fancy”, hence the name “Fancy Wednesday.”

Although I’m sure most of my “Fancy Wednesday” posts will likely consist of 10+ items (hey, I’m fashion obsessed) today’s post is solely dedicated to my (current) one true heart’s desire- Kate Spade’s new 2 Park Avenue Beau Bag.

My boyfriend (and closet space) would say I need another purse like I need a hole in my head, but as far as I know, a woman can never have too many purses! Especially, when there are purses like “The Beau”! From it’s beautiful, classic and structured shape to its delicate bow detail, this purse has me weak in the knees with “That can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars over the fence, world series kind of love.” Obssessive? Perhaps, but can you blame me? This beauty comes in a variety of colors, but if i had to choose between the black/leopard/macchiato  and vivid snapdragon/maraschino (pictured below) I would be forced to flip a coin.

Which would you choose?

Wedding Bells Ring in Playa Del Carmen

There are few things that bring me more joy than traveling, but the before and after of traveling is always a nightmare.  Getting back into the groove of reality and catching up on all the missed duties at home and work is tough (hence the delay in posting this blog about my trip). Well, enough about my first world problems….

I recently had the joy and honor of traveling to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico to attend the wedding of my two wonderful friends Michael and Amanda n/k/a “The Mestres.” My lover boy and I along with about 20 other of our close friends stayed at the all-inclusive RIU Palace Resort.  I had never been on a trip with so many of my close friends and all staying in the same resort.  The result was pure bliss and complete madness…Let’s just say it was a trip none of us will ever forget.

The actual wedding ceremony and reception took place at the majestic archeological park Xcaret, which is basically the main attraction and a “must see” location when visiting the Riviera Maya.  Xcaret is absolutely breathtaking and I have been fortunate enough to attend (now) two weddings at this magnificent venue.  I had such an amazing time at the wedding reception that I completely slacked on taking enough pictures of the grandiose cave with surrounding underwater rivers that the reception took place in.  However, being the major foodie I am, I did not fail to snap pics of the exquisite meal served consisting of a mouth-watering  tuna tar tar appetizer, Mar y Tierra entrée and two varieties of desserts.

The days following the wedding were filled with Sun, Fun and of course Fashion… Lol!  Check out the pics of the Fun in the Sun and of course, what I wore.

PINK & Everything NAUGHTY

So I had been super pumped about seeing the much talked about pop-up theatrical experience Orchid. Orchid has been described as “part Moulin Rouge, part Cirquie du Soleil, a pop culture infused extravaganza in a vintage European Cabaret tent and enhanced by an exclusive food and beverage program developed by award-winning chef, Michelle Bernstein.” Well, this past Saturday night I finally had the chance to check it out.

My boyfriend and I headed to the Pleasure Garden (calm down, that’s the name of the venue) one hour before showtime to have a few drinks and a bite to eat at the Pleasure Garden Restaurant. We munched on  “Michy’s Croquetas” made with Jamon Serrano, melted cheese and fig jam, which were very delicious and the “Fresh Ceviche of the Day,” which in all honesty was not so great.  The food portions were not only scarce and pricey, but also served on plasticware. I understand the concept of the pop-up restaurant, but plasticware?

As for the show, I have to be honest, I was a bit underwhelmed. They say “expectation is the root of all heartache” and my expectations may have been too high. It was not bad, but it was not great either. A mix of song, dance, burlesque, aerial acrobatics and fireworks sounds like a recipe for a mind-blowing good time and I did have a good time, but my mind was not blown away…..Waaaah, waaaaah, waaaaaah!

Take a look at what I wore for the show, a little bit of PINK and everything else NAUGHTY!

Who Run the World?? GIRLS! GIRLS!

This past Saturday all the beautiful women in my family got together to celebrate my cousin Maria’s baby shower. Maria (and her wonderful hubby) have been blessed with their 2nd baby girl, Carolina Marie! The baby shower took place at Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar, located in Kendall, Miami, Florida. The food was absolutely delicious and any occasion in which all the women in my family can be together, is truly a blessing. For this very special occasion I wore a hot pink, pleated maxi dress by Halston Heritage, rose gold shoes by Michael Kors and a necklace from Sale Rack. Of course, I wasn’t the only fashionista in attendance, my cousin Maria was glowing in a gorgeous ruffled, ivory dress by Zara and hot pink, suede pumps by Dolce Vita.  My niece Angelina Marie, stole the show with her Marchesa/Neiman Marcus for Target fuschia, petal skirt dress (which my cousin has promised to hand down to me for my (distant) future baby girl) and last, but certainly not least, my beautiful niece, Victoria Cyane looked ravishing in a hot pink, embroidered Tommy Hilfiger dress and necklace from Loehmann’s ℅ Sun Fun Fashion.
